Introduction
PCTechAdvice.com was created from a simple idea that the skills you attain in life should not be kept a secret. It's to help people that aren't really tech savy.
History
Growing up we all find interests in different things; some like cars, collecting rocks, music, dance, etc. There are also those like me, who love to tinker with gadgets. My first computer was a Packard Bell pre-built PC that my parents got when I was in junior high. I was facinated by how it ran and the world that it opened up for me with the internet.
During college I helped friends with their computer troubles. Since most of us didn't really have that much money, they would offer to cook or take me out to lunch/dinner (I think my ex-gf used this reverse tactic on me when we first met). This lead to many more endevours in building and repairing PCs.
Many people get suckered into purchasing computers that are well beyond their budget. Others are talked into purchasing cheaper computers that are being sold in order to get rid of inventory. Little do they know that a particular model is known to have problems and/or will break down easily. A grandma wanting to go online for pictures of her grandkids doesn't need dual screen, three hard drives, enough video power to render out a small animation short for Pixar and a PSU powerful enough to power a small country. Unfortunately, some people just don't really "know" what they need.
My goal in opening this site is to help people attain an affordable and enjoyable computer while satisfying my interest as a computer enthusiast to build them... and who knows, maybe get a free lunch while I'm at it. =)
